Transport Coordinator for Service Travel, Region Uppsala

Traffic and Society is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. Around 110 employees work at our administration. Our mission is to develop and operate sustainable transport for a growing Uppsala County. We develop, among other things, the infrastructure and public transport within the county. Under the brand UL, public transport is operated in collaboration with contracted transport companies. Our employees have a wide range of competencies and work with business development, procurement, urban planning, traffic planning, system administration, finance, communication, sales, and customer service.

Our Operations

Do you want to make a difference in people's daily lives? We are now looking for a service-oriented transport coordinator with good coordination skills at our unit for ordering and traffic control of patient transport. Working with us means facilitating the daily lives of our travelers every day and meeting the needs in a growing county. The Service Travel department is responsible for the county's patient transport and coordinates the special public transport in the county. Your Role

As a transport coordinator, you are responsible for receiving orders for patient transport, mainly by phone, as well as traffic control of patient transport. In this role, you must be stress-resistant, have good multitasking skills, and be able to make quick decisions.

As an order receiver, your tasks include, among other things:

  • Receiving orders via phone
  • Scheduling patient transport in the planning system
  • Monitoring, traffic control, and follow-up of traffic
  • Contact with taxi companies performing the transport
  • Contact with healthcare, emergency centers, relatives, and patients

In your work, you collaborate closely with your colleagues and our partners. At the administration, we value the team and good cooperation where all employees work for common success. Since the operations must run 24/7, shift work and work at irregular times are included, meaning working hours cover daytime, evenings, and nights during weekdays and weekends.

Your Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in serving customers via phone
  • Good computer skills and ease in searching for information and learning new systems
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Merits

  • Experience as a switchboard operator and other coordination roles
  • Experience with the Alfa system
  • Traffic control or transport coordination
  • Good local knowledge of Uppsala is preferred

The position is permanent and full-time. The role includes shift work, including night work, seven days a week.
